A woman who lost 30 members of her family in the South Asia Earthquake travelled to Pakistan to help victims.
Shaheen Akhtar returned to the UK saying specialist orthopaedic surgeons are desperately needed to help treat people with horrific injuries.
The health care worker, travelled to her uncle's hospital in Maneshra to treat the injured.
"I was shocked by the extent of the injuries they were treating at the hospital," said Miss Akhtar, 25.
"There are so many children who have had limbs amputated. Some of the children are still too distressed to talk."
She said the KBDO hospital, of which her uncle was a founder member, usually treats children with blood diseases such as cancer.
When the earthquake struck the hospital, which was the only one left standing in the area, had queues of people lining up outside for treatment.
Every inch of the hospital has been turned into a treatment area and patients were also treated in a makeshift camp outside.
She said: "Although they have done brilliantly providing emergency medical treatment for patients in the weeks after the disaster, the doctors and medical staff there do not have specialist knowledge of orthopaedic surgery."
Miss Akthar, of Bradford said patients who had their limbs crushed by buildings collapsing needed expert advice on whether their bones were re-forming properly.
"If their bones don't grow back in the right way they could be deformed for life," she said. "An orthopaedic surgeon with specialist knowledge may be able to prevent that and really improve people's quality of life."
Miss Akthar travelled to the disaster region with her sister Saima.
They took thousands of pounds worth of medical supplies with them.
Unable to forget the memories of the people she has vowed to continue fundraising for victims of the disaster.
