DK7 are a Swedish/Irish hybrid of celtic vocals and techno beats. It's too dark and sinister to be classed as chill-out, but too laid back to back for the dance floor.
But nevertheless their debut album Disarmed makes a refreshing change from most dance acts who seem content to copy each other rather than re-invent the genre.
Influences are straight out of the eighties - most notably the Human League, Heaven 17 and Depeche Mode - but there's also a touch of the Shamen thrown into the mix for good measure.
Standout tracks are The Difference (a big summer hit in 2003) and Heart Like A Demon. However, if it's a collection of twelve songs you're looking for, there's not enough variety here.
Released October 24, 2005.
