BLACKBURN boss Mark Hughes is set to hand a trial to Polish defender Antoni Lukasiewicz.
The Poland Under 21 international captain has been recommended to Rovers by a third party and Hughes has decided to bring him over to England to take a closer look.
The 22-year-old, who's equally adept as a centre half or a defensive midfield player, is highly-rated in his homeland.
He currently plies his trade with Polonia Warsaw, where he has graduated from the youth team to the senior side, but his employers will not stand in his way if he can seal a dream move to England.
Lukasiewicz is one of a number of young players who will be handed trial opportunities by Rovers in the coming months.
As we reported last week, Hughes is planning to take a closer at Norwegian Under 21 international striker Karim Aoudia and Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan.
The club are also working on bringing in a fourth trialist, whose identity has yet to be revealed, in the coming weeks.
John Williams, Rovers' executive chairman, said: "We're always very keen to see these players in the flesh because we believe that's the best way to assess their ability."
