Brakes are a super-group constructed from the finest components of the best bands in Brighton - British Sea Power, Electric Soft Parade and Tenderfoot.
Very much a good-humoured side-project, it's clear from Ring A Ding Ding that Sussex's finest haven't taken the project too seriously.
In fact, the title and the ninety second running time alone are enough to indicate that this is hardly an attempt to change the world.
The opening lyrics reinforce this - "Ring a ding ding, my head's in a spin, there's a cowboy in the court he's got a monkey on his..."
Yummy Yummy Yummy (I've Got Love In My Tummy) as sung by The Hives, The Strokes or Kings of Leon wouldn't be too far off the mark.
A decent enough high tempo track - but it won't change your life.
Released October 17, 2005.
