GOVERNMENT figures, which reveal Burnley is among the UK's best at tackling hooliganism, is 'a victory for teamwork'.
That is the view of Burnley FC's chief executive Dave Edmundson reacting to Home Office statistics that show only seven other clubs in the country issued more banning orders than the 28 police issued to Clarets fans during the 2004-5 season.
He said: "The club enjoys a very strong and positive relationship with the police. Our ground safety officer and the match commander from Lancashire Constabulary liaise regularly.
"We are recognised by the Football League as having one of the best crowd management operations in the country and Burnley FC will continue to work in partnership with the authorities to ensure that football matches are enjoyed in a safe and enjoyable environment."
