BURNLEY plan to bide their time before signing a goalkeeper on loan as cover for Brian Jensen.
The Clarets have decided not to appeal against Jensen's red card, received for deliberate handball in the 3-2 win at away to Luton Town last weekend.
Burnley's only fit, senior keeper will therefore serve a one-match ban and miss the next Championship game against Leicester City at Turf Moor.
Portsmouth's Dutch back-up keeper, Sander Westerveld, has already been mentioned in tabloid circles as a potential target.
However, Burnley manager boss Steve Cotterill is keeping his cards close to his chest as he uses the timely two-week international break to make exhaustive enquiries before adding to his numbers ahead of the Foxes game in 10 days time.
"I have spoken to quite a few people to try to ascertain who might be available," said Cotterill today. "When I find more out we will look to do some something, but that will not be until as least next week.
"There's not such a big selection anyway, but I have spoken to a couple (of managers) and now it's a case of wait and see."
