BURNLEY have thrown down the gauntlet to fans by scrapping their controversial £3 surcharge for next week's Championship clash with Leicester City.
The move follows objections from some supporters to the charge, which led to those buying tickets in the three hours approaching kick off paying more than those bought in advance.
And club chiefs have vowed to review the policy altogether should the November 18 meeting with the Foxes generate an increased Turf Moor attendance.
A Clarets spokesman said: "There has been no doubt that the introduction of a price increase on matchdays has caused some people to question the ticketing policy.
"The club has acknowledged the e-mails and letters it has received and if we saw an increase in attendance for this match, then we would consider reviewing the policy completely."
The fan-led Clarets Trust, who were consulted in the decision to scrap the charge, added: "Once again the club have shown that they are willing to listen to supporters.
"However, the only way to prove the club were wrong is for those who have stayed away as a result to turn up for the Leicester game."
A series of extra offers have also been introduced to boost the attendance, including 20 per cent off replica shirts and a discounted matchday programme and food.
Tickets for the game are available via the ticket office, online, over the phone on 0870 443 1914, or on day itself.
