A green group is looking for open spaces that need to be improved.
Great Harwood Prospect Panel is planning its 2006 programme and wants to help residents make their areas better.
Chairman Barbara Sharples said: "We won't go into an area to do a project on behalf of residents. We prefer to work in partnership with others so people can maintain a project when it is completed.
"The idea is for small groups of people to take ownership of the area where they live to make visible improvements.
"It is the area where they live and we need input and ideas from local people who are willing to get involved in both the decision-making and the practical work."
She added: "There are lots of areas in the town that could do with improving in some way. Many of these would be short-term projects, but together they could make a real difference to the appearance of the town.
Anyone with an idea for a project can contact Barbara on 609207.
