A BLACKBURN family was terrorised in their own home when two men entered and launched an attack.
Preston Crown court was told Salim Sidat and his wife June, who is registered disabled, were awakened by a bang and discovered Peter Clark and Ryan Gilpin in their bedroom.
Mr Sidat was punched and demands made for money.
The couple, who were at home with their three teenage children, described being left upset and distressed by their ordeal.
Clark, 25, of Cambridge Drive, Blackburn, and Gilpin, 18, of Shetland Close, Blackburn, both admitted assault with intent to rob, and were sentenced to three years.
Clark, who also admitted failing to provide a breath specimen, was jailed for a further three months and banned from driving for a year.
Louise Whaites, prosecuting, said Mr and Mrs Sidat, who were in their 50s and 60s respectively, were naked in bed at their home on Romley Walk, when they were awakened by a bang. Mr Sidat was dazed as he had been on medication the night before. Two men were in the bedroom. Clark took hold of Mr Sidat's arm. Gilpin was behind him.
Clark demanded money and started to punch Mr Sidat, who shouted for his son to help and the two men walked out of the bedroom.
The registration number of a car was noted and the 13 year old daughter contacted police. Police later found missing property in the car.
Clark told police he went to the house to assault a man he thought lived there and was involved in selling drugs. He denied asking for money. Gilpin declined to comment.
Julian Holt, defending Clark, said his offending stemmed from excess alcohol. He fully accepted the gravity of the offence and was shocked by what happened on that night.
Amanda Johnson, for Gilpin, said he had met Clark at a party and had not known him before then. He was easily led and heavily intoxicated at the time.
