A TEENAGER who was part of a gang which shot at a car with an air rifle was given a 12 month community order.

Burnley magistrates heard how the police found pellet marks all over the car when they were called by the victim.

Christopher Little, 19, of New Market Street, Colne, admitted criminal damage and having an air weapon in a public place.

He was also given supervision and must do 50 hours community punishment. He was was ordered to pay £65 compensation.

David Leach, defending, said Little was with two others who discharged the firearm causing damage to the car.

He was suitable for a community order. Little had attended a special school for 12 years and had been out of work for 13 weeks.

Mr Leach said the defendant would be greatly assisted by a supervision order which would help him in looking for work and how to conduct himself.
