A WOMAN was fighting for her life today after falling about 25ft from an upstairs window of a house in Rossendale.
The incident happened between 2am and 2.30am yesterday in Burnley Road East, Waterfoot.
It is believed the 26-year-old, who police are not naming, fell from a bathroom window on the second floor of the three-storey property which has been converted to flats.
The woman was treated at the scene. She was taken to Burnley General Hospital with severe head injuries.
She was later transferred to Blackburn. Today she was in a critical condition, said police.
Three people were arrested by police and later released after questioning.
Detective Inspector Sam Birtwell said police had ruled out any foul play.
He said: "It appears she has fallen from a bathroom window on the second floor of the terraced property.
"She has sustained serious head injuries and is in a critical condition in Blackburn Royal Hospital.
"Three people were arrested and all have been released.
"At this stage there is no evidence of any suspicious circumstances.
"If there are any people who may have witnessed the incident we would be interested to hear from them."
A Lancashire Ambulance spokesman said the call was received about 2.30am.
He said: "She was taken to Burnley General Hospital with serious multiple injuries and later transferred to Blackburn."
