Michael Jennings' next fight could be for the European crown after he came through a real toe to toe scrap with Welshman Bradley Pryce to retain his British welterweight title.
Jennings' army of fans held their breath as their hero survived an early score to take the fight on a unanimous points decision at Preston's Guild Hall last Tuesday night.
Pryce started like a whirlwind and had still not blown himself out as the fight entered its final round.
In between, Jennings, caught with a right hook in the first that brought about a knockdown and standing eight count from the ref, grew stronger and more confident as the fight progressed and had Pryce in trouble on a number of occasions.
Jennings' manager Frank Warren continues to plot his star's future with either another British defence or a crack at the European crown on the cards.
