Chorley have another chance to break their duck and clinch their first home league win when they take on Spalding United at Victory Park on Saturday.
Goals by Chris Thompson and a Peter Wright penalty gave the Magpies a 2-1 victory over the Tulips on September 24 and Shaun Teale's side will now seek to make the most of home advantage and secure their first double of the season.
Chorley's home jinx continued last Saturday with an odd-goal defeat at the hands of Shepshed Dynamo which was particularly disappointing after they had ground out a 1-0 win over Mark Molyneaux's Rossendale United at Dark Lane in midweek when Wright again was the scorer.
The Magpies were in cup action last night (Tuesday), taking on Kidsgrove Athletic at Hollinswood Close in the first round of the UniBond League Challenge Cup.
It was a no-lose situation for both sides, as whoever lost the tie on the night would - after the use of extra time and penalties if necessary - live to fight another day in another competition, the Chairman's Cup. The winners were going through to the League Cup second round and even defeat at that stage will mean a place in the President's Cup.
After exemptions to the second round in two successive seasons, Chorley go into the United Co-operative Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy - formerly known as the Lancashier Junior Cup - in the first round, with a home tie on November 15 against Bacup Borough of the North West Counties League.
