Rhythm and blues veterans Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, widely hailed as "the world's greatest bar band", hail from the shores of New Jersey. Now they're coming to the shores of Lancashire on November 16 for their first ever gig at Blackpool's Grand Theatre.
Fans of upbeat, horn-based rhythm and blues are probably familiar with the band, who graduated from the same clubs as Bruce Springsteen.
The heart of the Jukes since they formed in the 1970s has been the vocals of "Southside" Johnny Lyon who also plays harmonica on many songs, together with Clapton-like lead guitarist Bobby Bandiera.
Their sound is a mix of classic rock 'n' roll and rhythm and blues with overtones of Stax and Phil Spector's Wall Of Sound.
Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes play at The Grand Theatre in Blackpool on Wednesday, November 16 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £19 - call the box office on 01253 290 190.
