Dozens of new jobs are set to hit the Fylde coast after one of the UKs leading pizza chains unveiled plans to open a restaurant in the area.
Bosses at Pizza Hut revealed they have earmarked Bispham as one of seven new sites due to be opened across the North West region - including Lancaster, Leyland, Manchester, Bolton and Blackburn - by November 2006.
It is estimated the move could create around 270 new jobs - from restaurant managers to support staff - in Lancashire alone, many of which will benefit Fylde workers.
Pizza Hut (UK) Chief Executive Officer, John Derkach said: "This year has been key in terms of Pizza Hut's expansion.
"We have steadily built upon last year's achievements and existing success to help consolidate our position as the UK's market leader.
"Pizza Hut continues to lead the way in providing the best family dining experience to customers across the UK.
"We're committed to a continuing this success by growing in Lancashire and by providing a welcome new amenity in each location.
"Additionally, our plans bring excellent opportunities to the region, which is good news for us and for Lancashire."
Last year, Pizza Hut - which has outlets in more than 90 countries worldwide - opened 62 new stores making them the UK's fastest growing pizza operator.
