James O'Connor could find out later today if he is to be punished with a costly three-match ban following his sending off in the Clarets' win over Millwall on Tuesday night.
The Clarets midfielder saw red, despite video evidence showing he did little wrong in a tussle with Millwall midfielder Jody Morris, who was sent off for violent conduct after grabbing O'Connor around the throat and face.
The Football Association yesterday received O'Connor's claim for wrongful dismissal and a disciplinary panel will sit this afternoon to decide on a final verdict.
One option could be to reduce the red card to a yellow, which would then incur a one-match ban since O'Connor was booked in the first half.
