RESIDENTS of an East Lancashire town can look forward to a better quality of life, a council has revealed.
A new 20-year community strategy has been launched in Chorley, by the Chorley Partnership, a body set up in 1996 to bring together key decision makers from across the borough.
The council, police, health trusts and churches are represented and the group has put together a set of priorities including improving access to public services.
Coun Dennis Edgerley, executive member for customers, policy and performance on Chorley Borough Council, said: "The strategy is a key tool in shaping the future of the borough because it has been developed in direct response to the needs and aspirations of the people who live and work here.
"We know we've got a lot of work to do in the next 20 years but by all sectors of the community working together through the partnership, we're in no doubt that the vision will become reality."
