Crazy Japanese punk-pop band Mikabomb are following up their new Hellcats album with a UK tour that kicks off in Lancaster on November 5.
Formed in London in 1999, the quintet - led by bombastic, Barbarella-style singer Mika Handa - quickly rose to fame as Japan's most shambolic musical export.
Label courtship followed, first signing to the Beastie Boys' Grand Royal imprint and then Damaged Goods.
In 2001 they released their first album, The Fake Fake Sound Of Mika Bomb, a blend of New York punk, '50s Garage, Motown and Japanese pop.
After a few years of touring Europe and the States, plus a few line-up changes, Japan's hottest heroines are back with the second album Hellcats and more boozy, chaotic shows.
Mikabomb play at the Farmers Arms in Lancaster on November 5.
