JEMAL Johnson marked his arrival at Deepdale on a month's loan with a 10th minute booking for diving.

The Blackburn Rovers striker partnered Patrick Agyemang up front against the Foxes and while North End enjoyed much of the possession, clear chances to nudge ahead were few and far between.

It was defender Matt Hill who took the home side closest to scoring, but his header was tipped around the post by keeper Rab Douglas.

Leicester, for their part, didn't produce much to write home about either, as Iain Hulme blasted their best chance wide from 12 yards.

Johnson made way for North End youngster David Hibbert on the hour mark, but North End still failed to make any serious headway.

And it fell to keeper Carlo Nash to ensure North End took at least a point, denying Joey Gudjonsson later on before Hibbert headed over the bar.

North End still haven't won at home this season, and boss Billy Davies said: "It was a very poor game, very scrappy, lots of back to front play.

"We know the situation with regards to what we are doing, not creating enough chances in the final third and that was certainly the case today.

"I can't fault the players' attitude, but at home, especially from middle to front, we have to be more creative."
