ROSSENDALE opera star Sean Ruane has just recorded a special rendition of Jerusalem for a souvenir album celebrating England's Ashes success. But he is coming back to his beloved Bacup on December 17 and 18 for shows at the Royal Court Theatre.
It's the third year that the internationally acclaimed tenor has played a pre-Christmas concert in his home town but this year he promises it will contain new elements.
"The format and the content will be different but I will be singing a few favourites," he said.
"There will be a mix of opera favourites, some traditional Irish folk tunes and Christmas songs -- and there may even be a rendition of Jerusalem."
And he added: "I am really looking forward to coming home again. This concert has become something of a pre-Christmas tradition."
Sean Ruane plays the Royal Court Theatre on December 17 and 18. Tickets priced £15 are on sale now from 01706 874080.
