MARK Hughes thinks the introduction of video evidence is 'inevitable'. But the Blackburn boss, while generally being in favour of it for crucial decisions, doesn't want to see football become unrecognisable.
"It's inevitable it will come at some point but I think it's important that when it is introduced it doesn't affect the game as we know it," said Hughes.
"I wouldn't want it to affect the natural flow of the game so we're not stood hanging around and playing a game that we never have before.
"I think given the circumstances and the amount that's at stake, big decisions have to be right but I wouldn't like to have all decisions taken away from the referee.
"Certain situations lend themselves to video technology, the case in point being goal-line clearances and whether or not the ball is over the line but I think that can be clearly introduced without taking too much away from the ref's decision."
Hughes, despite being on the wrong end of a game-defining decision when Zurab Khizanishvili was red carded at Liverpool, still doesn't mind human error affecting the outcome of a game.
He added: "Sometimes you get the benefit sometimes you don't but I think it makes for a better game if there's debate surrounding the game."
