I READ recently that local parks received recognition for improvements.

Unfortunately the names of the groundsmen responsible for all this hard work were not given.

Later another article appeared and still the men and women who do all the work to improve the parks were not named.

Of course the councillors and other officials got a mention. I wonder how much digging and back-breaking work they put in? I wonder how many hours they spent out in the rain and hail, scorching sun and howling wind? Still theirs were the only names mentioned.

I would like to inform the masses of the name of at least one of those unappreciated hard workers. It is Nigel Berry and he is the man responsible for Mercer Park in Clayton-le-Moors.
