THE secret of sport, whether it is as an individual or playing in a side, is team-work so Grassroots is delighted to announce its has joined forces with CIS.
The sponsorship deal will help promote sport at the local level and give readers the chance to nominate anyone who has made a telling contribution.
For as part of this partnership and its on-going stand sponsorship at Ewood Park, CIS has launched the CIS Playfair in the Community awards -- where monthly winners will be put forward to an overall winner.
The CIS Playfair in the Community awards recognise the efforts of individuals who make a major contribution to the sporting community.
Each month in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, we'll be asking you to nominate a person from your local community who you think deserves recognition for the outstanding contribution they make.
This might be the coach of your local football team, someone who gives up their spare time voluntarily to help others or an unsung hero who perhaps does not get the recognition they deserve.
Each month's winner will be rewarded with a trip to Blackburn Rovers training ground where they will receive their CIS Playfair in the Community award.
In May, all monthly winners will also be invited to the Blackburn Rovers Player of the Year dinner where the overall winner of the CIS Playfair in the Community Award 2005/2006 will be announced.
So if you think you know somebody who deserves a CIS Playfair in the Community award look out for the first nomination form in next Tuesday's Grassroots section.
