So that's it then, the transfer window has closed and we have to run with what we've got up to the January sales.
Looking at the departing players, it has to be said that the change and the regular football should do them good.
As with all young players, playing consistently is the best way to develop and one can only hope that Rovers reap the benefit.
However, the fact that McEveley and Douglas have been loaned out again makes me think that their long term future is already decided.
The road into Ewood Park has been a little quieter than the road out though. We now have a third choice keeper (undoubtedly needed but hardly a season ticket seller) and a versatile defender whose name would only set the pulses racing if you got it in a game of Scrabble.
To be fair though, our performances at the back without key personnel made the acquisition of such a player a 'no-brainer' for Sparky.
The acquisition of David Bentley is an interesting one though. From what I've seen he could be the answer to our lack of creativity in midfield.
He can fill in any of the positions in midfield but looks best suited to joining the attack from out wide.
All this talk apart, I bet I'm not the only supporter who's a little depressed about our transfer dealings in general.
When Ferguson was sold the money was promised for re-investment in the team. Added to that there is the sell on clause from James Beattie's transfer to Everton and the money saved from the outgoing players in the summer.
This figure alone would amount to the best part of £5 million and that's before we talk of any summer transfer budget.
I know there will be those who'll say the Ferguson money paid for Savage but I seem to remember Savage was bought before any deal for Ferguson was struck.
I also remember Sparky talking of wanting to pair Savage with Ferguson before having to reluctantly bow to the player's request.
We're led to believe that the money brought in for Ferguson was a similar amount to that paid for Bellamy so I'm led to think a number of things.
1) That we always knew Ferguson was going and the incoming cash was earmarked to buy Savage.
2) The money to buy Savage was part of the summer transfer budget.
3) There was no money in the summer transfer budget.
Should any of these be the case the fans would be a lot less disillusioned if they'd been told up front.
Nobody wants a Leeds situation here but I know I'm not the only fan who thinks that the sums don't add up.
If we have no money (as it would appear) let's hear it from those who know.
