AFTER the weekend's FA Cup-dominated fixture upheaval and the postponement of Bishop Auckland's UniBond First Division visit scheduled for the Bank Holiday, Chorley set off for Yorkshire again on Saturday.
This time Shaun Teale's men will be in search of league points taking on another Albion - one of the two Ossett teams, in a match that has had a degree of spice added to it by events over the last week.
A mere ten days ago Chorley enjoyed a handsome 4-0 win at Eastwood while Ossett Albion were smarting from a 7-0 opening day hammering at Mossley.
Since then, a six-point haul from successive victories has catapulted the West Yorkshire into the joint leadership - five places above the Magpies. Chorley will be on the road again on Tuesday, visiting Warrington Town, who have yet to win a league match this season.
Chorley were last night aiming to bury the memory of last week's successful return by the Rossendale ex-Magpies when they took on Tadcaster Albion at the second attempt, having squared the first tie with two late goals.
Teale was hoping the availability of experienced striker Gary Martindale would be a crucial factor in the Magpies' hopes of a lucrative cup run.
Mark Molyneaux's Rossendale side, who included eight former Chorley players and backroom men Wayne Goodison and Dave Tulloch, clearly wanted to show the Chorley establishment what they were missing.
But, although Moly's battlers deserved their 3-2 win on the night, and Stuart Tulloch took his hat-trick well, Chorley should have kept their composure against an outfit desperate to do well at Victory Park.
Teale reminded his players, they will come up against a lot of teams in this division whose game is built on not letting the opposition get into their stride and the important thing is not to let such opponents unsettle them.
Chorley Reserves recovered from a 5-1 defeat at Altrincham in midweek to share the points in a 2-2 draw with Ossett Albion in the Lancit Haulage Lancashire League at Victory Park on Saturday.
Danny Olsen, the scorer at Altrincham, earned a first-team call-up for the FA Cup trip to Tadcaster.
Chorley Reserves found themselves a goal down after only five minutes against Ossett but from a pass by Dave Phoenix, Adam Millington hammered the equaliser from 25 yards out.
The visitors regained the lead in the second half but following a spell of pressure Dave Mason bundled in a Danny Self cross.
