IT is scandalous that the X43 bus service has been withdrawn from Colne.
To use the excuse of large numbers of schoolchildren possibly using the service is ridiculous at best and discriminatory at worst.
As the bus service is a limited stop service, it would be unlikely for all three schools to have access.
Moreover, if that were the reason for withdrawing the service, why do all of the services have to be withdrawn during times when schoolchildren should actually be at school?
The bus company would do well to remember that not every family owns a car, nor does everyone like driving into the town centres, therefore a significant number of the general public will now be cut off from many activities they were used to in the past.
Time for a rethink!
