Chorley welterweight champ Michael Jennings will top the bill at Preston Guild hall in his first defence of the British title.

Jennings will fight Bradley Pryce on October 18 after the Welshman was nominated as official challenger by the British Boxing Board of Control.

Jennings won the title in stunning style when he knocked out Jimmy Vincent inside a round at the Bolton Arena, Bolton, last month.

But he will have to be at his best to beat Pryce, a former challenger for the British welterweight title.

When he boxed Neil Sinclair in Belfast at the start of 2003 he was leading on the referee's scorecard when he was stopped in the eighth round.

Jennings has won all his 27 pro' fights and is the WBO number one.
