CONGRATULATIONS to Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team. Where would walkers be without the back-up of this voluntary organisation?
At any time of day or night they go at a moment's notice to help those in need.
Early on August 16 they rescued a lady who had been walking at Grane reservoir who fell and hurt herself and in the early hours of August 17, after approximately five hours, the same team were happy to locate a man who had been stranded on Pendle Hill all night after heavy mist and fog had made visibility impossible to find his way back.
I, for one, would like to say thank goodness that we have these dedicated conscientious volunteers. They are a credit to us.
MRS B RILEY, Southwood Drive, Baxenden.
