SHEFKI Kuqi has revealed his frustration at not getting off the mark, despite being just two games into his Blackburn Rovers career.
But the Finnish striker, who played up front on his own in the 2-1 win over Fulham on Saturday, is confident the goals will flow once he opens his account.
Kuqi had several chances to find the net against Fulham during a bustling performance, which included the perfect cross that set up Morten Gamst Pedersen's brilliant opening goal.
But considering he only had two goals by late September playing for Ipswich last season, and finished the campaign with 21, he's not too worried by the slow start.
"The main thing on Saturday was to get three points although I wasn't happy that I didn't get a goal," said Kuqi.
"But the main thing for me is to get those chances, I've always said that. If I don't get chances then I'm going to think, 'what's going wrong?'
"As long as I'm in there to miss them it's okay because when I score the first one I think more will come.
"It took me five games from the start of last season to get my first one but then there were a lot more to come. I need to get that first one then it will be okay."
Rovers complete a hat-trick of games against London opposition tomorrow when leaders Tottenham arrive at Ewood Park.
But confidence in the Rovers camp is soaring after they put the opening day defeat against West Ham firmly behind them with their first victory of the season over Fulham.
Kuqi said: "We didn't want to look back on the West Ham game because everybody was disappointed and we know we can play much better than that.
"On Saturday we did well and after we let the goal in there was only going to be one winner.
"We've got another home game now and it will be difficult, but we just need to work hard and see what we can get."
With Paul Dickov still suspended and Craig Bellamy injured, Kuqi is likely to lead the line on his own again as Rovers attempt to become the first team to score against Spurs this season.
"I've played up front on my own before so it's not a problem," he said. "And I've got good players around me so it doesn't matter."
