B CORBETT asks (LET, August 10) why we can't lock up "would-be terrorists" to prevent atrocities.
Why stop there? Why not lock up people "just in case" they commit acts of paedophilia, murder, drug dealing, rape, even anti-social thugs maybe?
Truth is anyone and everyone has and will at some point in their life think about committing a criminal act, but many rarely do.
We can't all be locked up on this basis, can we? This is why it is so important to preserve human rights.
