RE the story (LET, August 10) about Mr Keith Prestage and his need for a disabled parking space.
I only wish Keith and Irene lived next door to me. I wouldn't even hesitate to say "Yes, go ahead. What is a couple of inches." It is better than blocking one's view all together.
I can well understand the difficulty when he has to walk up the street to have to walk down (Irene is in a chair) to get to his own home.
Barnes Street, Pickup Street and Grange Street are just chock-a-block with cars.
Some are like ornaments on display. Every help should be given to anyone who is disabled, and not pushed to one side.
Only the other day I saw how difficult it was for anyone on those little machines to try to get over the kerb when going in the park, from the bottom of Grange Street.
All it needs is a ramp or levelling off. Don't say the council hasn't any money.
Good luck Keith, I know you won't give up.
