A new play is set to get its world premiere at Chorley Little Theatre.

Bouncing Back is the highly anticipated sequel to the all time comedy classic, Bouncers, by John Godber.

The writer this time however is a local professional actor called Joe Mills.

With his three colleagues he has launched a theatre company called GBH Productions and has had approval from John Godber himself for the project.

The play will premiere at a champagne press night at Chorley Little Theatre on September 3.

Why here? Because this is the theatre where this group of actors got together to perform Bouncers for their own pleasure and consequently they received such rave reviews that they were asked back on five occasions to perform the play.

The initial run of what will hopefully be a professional production will open at Chorley as a fundraiser for the theatre and as a special thankyou for all the loyal support of the public and the members of CADOS, Chorley Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society.

The play itself picks up five years on from the original and our Bouncers are now leading separate lives after the club, Mr Cinders, was closed down.

Judd is back in the wrestling game, Ralph and Les are doing removals and Lucky Eric is a lollipop man.

When the former owner of the club dies, the bouncers' paths cross at the funeral and it's here they are offered a chance to get back together and work the door of a new nightclub in Ibiza.

Tickets are on sale from Malcolm's Music Land, Chapel Street, Chorley, on 01257 264362.

Bouncing Back is directed by Joe Mills, Brian Clarke, Steve Unsworth and Barry Callander.
