WHAT is our so-called nation coming to when you can no longer be proud of your own country and show it?
A couple of weeks ago my 30-year-old well spoken and hard-working boyfriend was refused entry to the public house called LA One in Lancaster because he was wearing a smart polo shirt that happened to have a St George's cross on it.
The doorman actually said that he could not enter wearing that shirt as it may offend others.
My boyfriend's older brother was also refused entry to The Litton Tree and the Blue Anchor pubs in Lancaster as he was wearing an England football shirt with a St George's cross.
At both places doormen said the reason was not that it was a football shirt but that it had on the St George's cross and may offend!
Is this right? What next, no Hawaiian shirts? But then why am I so surprised when our own Government tried to stop us flying our flag and wants to halt Nativity plays in schools..
