London Olympia's Grand Hall witnessed the return of the three day Asian Lifestyle Show.
Despite recent and tragic events haunting London and affecting public transport, the show carried on and saw a respectful turn out from the public, even reaching capacity on Sunday.
Spectators were treated to breathtaking performances by top British Asian urban acts, fashion shows, cookery demonstrations hosted by an array of celebrity chefs and guest appearances by A-list Bollywood stars.
The show was bought to London Olympia by the very same team as last year, Tony Lit, Managing Director of Sunrise Radio Group, the worlds leading Asian radio station also recently appointed Asian ambassador for the London Olympics 2012 and Vijay Saggar, Managing Director of Excel Caf Bars Limited.
Sony Entertainment Television Asia was on hand to open auditions for the second series of Indian Idol, the hit show based on the hugely successful Pop Idol format.
Bollywood golden couple, Kajol and Ajay Devgan, along with sultry Kareena Kapoor and sensational Saif Ali Khan thrilled the crowds with special appearances, up-close and personal interviews and autograph signings.
The crowd went wild for the gorgeous trio girl band Rouge, singing their chart topping hits as well as B21 and Juggy D and Veronica, who collaborate with the likes of Craig David, Britney Spears and Mary J Blige, as part of the Rishi Rich Project.
Abhijeet Sawant, winner of Indian Idol, also performed on the entertainment stage inspiring the public to audition for the second series of Indian Idol, music hit show based on the hugely successful Pop Idol format.
Ethnic trends are on the rise in the UK in all areas of lifestyle, including health and beauty. The Western love affair with Eastern fashions was ever strong as the fashion catwalk stage, sponsored by Asiana magazine and Shaadi.com, held host to the latest in Asian trends with designs by Aftershock, Kurtashop.com and Frontier Bazar. A-list Asian models took to the runway uniquely showcasing a fusion of fashion, music and adrenaline pumping choreography.
Other highlights included traditional ayurvedic massage to ease aches whilst shopping, henna tattoos, astrology readings, new beauty make-up launches introduced in the UK, health seminars by the British Heart Foundation,encouraging the Asian community to give much needed blood and talks from Indian homeopathic clinics, career changing employment stands and much more, all under one mammoth roof.
