A FORMER city council officer has been named as the new Local Government Ombudsman for the North of England.
Anne Seex, pictured, has been appointed on the recommendation of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to deal with complaints against the likes of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Birmingham, Solihull, and councils across the North of England (except the city of York).
Her job will be to investigate to find out if there has been fault in the way a council has taken a decision and if it has caused injustice to the complainant.
A former director of community services at Lancaster City Council, she says she is 'honoured' to be appointed to the service.
