YOUNG people are being offered a chance to follow in the footsteps of a Morecambe daredevil as a unique stunt school and trampoling centre opens in the resort.

Martin Shenton, who has thrown himself out of windows and wing-walked in smash hits films including James Bond's Tomorrow Never Dies, The Plan Man and Wire in the Blood, will open Regent Park Studios this month.

Martin has splashed out thousands so that local people can learn martial arts and the basics of stunt work.

Martin, who lives in Morecambe with his wife and two kids, bought a dilapidated house on Regent Road and has spent the past year transforming it into a huge multi-use studio.

He has smashed down walls, built new walls, created new floors to be a haven for martial arts, trampoling and everything else required to become a stuntman or woman.

It has been a busy year for the former brickie, who has made his new venture a full-time job, renovating his studios while still slotting in some stunt work - most recently for Bollywood films.

"There is a floor to put down in the martial arts room, trampolines to put in and a climbing wall to put up, but we are aiming to be ready by the end of August. It's a dream come true for me," says Martin.

He decided to embark on the project because there was not much for youngsters to do in the area.

He says: "These classes will get children and adults back into sport in a new and innovative way and show them how sport plays a huge part in films and stage work."
