NETHER Kellet cyclist Ben Greenwood is celebrating after becoming British under-23 road race champion.
The 20-year-old class act took the title after 100 miles of astute hard riding at Dorton, in Buckinghamshire.
Greenwood entered the race as favourite after some recent excellent form and a fifth place in the Tour of Pendle Premier Calendar RACE was his best result in the Elite National Series.
He says: "I was well motivated for this race, I knew the form was there."
As for the remainder of the season Greenwood adds: "Hopefully I'll get a ride in the Tour of Britain, either with the team or with the Great Britain squad, and hopefully I'll get a ride in the under-23 World Championships at the end of September.
"I've had some good results, but it's up to the selectors."
