A REPORT comparing the economic regeneration potential of proposed Northern and Western link road routes from the M6 to Heysham is 'seriously flawed'.
That's the belief of Morecambe and Lunesdale MP Geraldine Smith (pictrured right) - and she intends to do something about it.
Ms Smith has strongly criticised the report she has obtained from the North West Development Agency and says: "Instead of drawing a straight comparison between the routes an additional bridge forming a link between Morecambe road and Luneside had been incorporated into the Northern route.
"This obviously completely distorts the data contained in the report and invalidates the conclusions drawn from it.
"I can only assume that this has been done in order to mask the weaknesses of the proposed Northern route. I think that it is outrageous and I have demanded an explanation from the chief executive of the NWDA.
"If the NWDA believe that the Northern route as it is currently proposed is inadequate to meet the areas economic development needs, it should come out and say so."
