I REFER to the article on the new children's centre in Little Harwood, Blackburn.
As a resident of Little Harwood I feel rather disappointed that we have not been kept informed of the proposed plans for our community.
My children attend St Stephen's School and from September my youngest child will move to this school too.
As a mother there are no safe areas of play for my children and the only green land available is being taken from our community.
Blackburn with Darwen Council admitted (LET, July 1) that creating a decent playing space on the land left after the development would be difficult because of the layout.
My son attended Kelsall Avenue nursery school which is being closed.
Why could this children's centre not be built there as it is a perfect alternative?
Why hasn't our community been kept informed?
Again it looks like the horse has already bolted and this is simply not good enough.
