A LONG-DISTANCE cyclist is looking for help in the Lancaster area.
Big-hearted Dave Boorman has just set out on a solo cycle ride all the way around the coast of Britain in a bid to raise money for his sister's cancer treatment.
He set out from Southend-on-Sea on Saturday and plans to visit every seaside town in mainland Britain in under two months - pedalling a distance of more than 2850 miles.
Dave hopes to pick up sponsorship along his route, which will take in Morecambe on Day 38 out of 60.
Now he is looking for help from a host family with an offer of overnight accommodation as he passes through.
It is two years since Dave's sister Letitia was diagnosed with cancer in her liver. She has been receiving treatment ever since but Dave says she has now come to the point where the NHS can do no more to help.
Treatment for her type of cancer has been tested successfully in the USA - but the cost could be in excess of £15,000.
For more information on the route Dave will be taking around the coast, how to donate or how to help with accommodation during the ride, visit the website at www.coastalcaper.co.uk.
Offers of help can also be made on 07849-580420
