MORECAMBE started their pre-season preparations with a good win over Chorley, leaving Victory Park with a 4-3 win.
The Shrimps had to come from behind to win - they were 3-1 down with 15 minutes left on the clock.
They went 1-0 down after ex-Lancaster City fringe player Franny Barry put the Magpies ahead after eight minutes - but Garry Hunter levelled 180 seconds later.
Chorley went back in front when Barry fired past Ryan Robinson again and they went 3-1 up just after the hour mark when Pete Wright blasted home.
Jonathan Smith reduced the arrears 10 minutes later and Garry Thompson equalised with 12 minutes to go.
And when Thompson was felled in the area, Michael Twiss stepped up to slot the winning penalty home.
Morecambe (first half): Robinson, Heard, Howard, Ruffer, Blackburn, Perkins, Kelly, Lloyd, Curtis, Hunter, Twiss
Morecambe (second half): Davies, Walmsley, Gray, Kempson, Stringfellow, Perkins, Hunter (Smith 66), Dodgson, Thompson, Twiss, Carlton
