LOCALS are being urged to sign up for a game of beach volleyball in Morecambe.

The resort's Blue Flag beach, close to the Midland Hotel, will come alive with a day-long volleyball tournament on August 27.

And organiser PC Neil Piggott is now seeking teams of people to sign up.

He wants to hear from teams of six players in three age categories - aged nine to 11, 12 to 16 and adults.

Neil says: "One of the things we are often told is that there is very little for kids to do - and so we decided to try this out."
