With regards to the letter by Ibrahim Master in last month's Asian Image. Being a member of many Ulema based organisations in the UK to say his opinion to side with the Labour party is a stance supported by the Ulema is far from the truth.
Secondly, it would be misleading to cite the MCB's support for Labour as any kind of proof since it is not a credible or authoritative organisation in the sight of the teachings of the Shariah.
Finally, it also seems demeaning to the high rank of the Sahabah and the four great Imams (may Allah be pleased with them) for him to compare his political differences on par with their differences. The Sahabah and the four Imams (may Allah be pleased with them) if they ever differed never did so for petty worldly gains. As for the differences encountered amongst modern day politicians and their supporters they are motivated merely by personal gains and power. And Allah knows best.
Yours sincerely
