Crowds flocked to the Frenchwood Festival under glorious summer sun to celebrate the multi-million pound regeneration of the area.
At the event on Saturday at St Augustine's School, St Austin's Place, Preston, children took part in face painting, badge making and henna painting.
There was also an exhibition showing how Frenchwood has changed over the years, and free pedometers were handed out.
The festival, organised by Preston City Council, marked the halfway point of the Frenchwood Renewal Scheme, which is breathing new life into more than 1,000 homes in the area.
The programme will bring in about £2.4million of funding to re-vamp the area with 14 projects focusing on housing, improving the environment, traffic, safety and community issues.
Councillor Bhikhu Patel, Mayor of Preston, said: "The Frenchwood Renewal scheme has been running for around 18 months and is really making a difference.
"Projects like Face Lift are really improving the appearance of streets around Frenchwood and gas and electricity safety checks are helping to improve safety within people's homes."
