Crawley boss Francis Vines has signed winger Lee Elam, who was released by Morecambe at the end of last season.
The 28-year-old has previously played for Southport, Halifax, Yeovil, Chester, Hornchurch and Burton Albion, as well as having two spells at Morecambe.
"I chased Lee after his departure from Hornchurch, but he decided a move back to his native north was the better option," says Vines.
"I hope this signing shows the calibre of player we are trying to attract."
