STARS from TV soap Emmerdale made it fun for all the family on Sunday when a soccer team from the cast took on Lancaster City.
Hundreds turned out in the searing hot sunshine to watch the likes of Ben Freeman, alias the soap's Scott Windsor, play football.
Ben, currently in a soap hospital bed after his schizophrenic ex-girlfriend and mother of his child tried to kill him, laughed his way through the match along with fellow characters Tony Lewis (Mark Reynolds), Kevin Fletcher (Andy Sugden), Tom Lister (Carl King), Luke Tittensor (Daz Eden), Glen Lamont (Richie Carter), James Hooten (Sam Dingle), Ollie Driver (Chris), Mike Merrick (Kevin) and Mark Anders (Brian).
The day was a resounding success for the football club as the stars mingled with the fans at a post-match barbeque - helping to raise £1,000 for charities.
City manager Phil Wilson and his assistant Peter Ward also played part of the game as the Dolly Blues ran out 9-5 winners.
"It was a great bit of fun for the lads. They all enjoyed it and it was a good day," says Wilson.
