ON a blisteringly hot sunny day, Astley & Tyldesley Cycle Speedway maintained their lead at the top of the Northern Fours League with a convincing win at Bury.
A & T raced to their record score in this league, with Damian Zareba, Remi Burchardt and Chris Finnigan all racing unbeaten.
Sheffield packed in the second places to finish runners-up on the day, with the home Pedalsport team edging out Scotia for third place.
For the second round running Bury just edged out A & T, to open up a two points lead at the top of the table. Sheffield, Scotia and Tameside finished behind them, retaining that order of positions in the table, after four of the seven rounds. A & T's European Junior Champion Remi Burchardt raced unbeaten in the U19 category.
A & T had three youngsters racing in the 1st National Round of the British Youth & Junior League at Sandwell . Ryan King and Charlie Keirl both made it through to the U-10s 'C' Final, but Becky Heslop pulled out of the U-16s event after three rides.
