CENTURIONS have taken highly-rated back rower Chris Jones on loan from St Helens.
Smith made an impressive debut off the bench in Leighs defeat at Huddersfield last Sunday and is again likely to be in the squad for this weekends trip to Bradford.
St Helens-born, Smith, 22, joined his hometown club from Sale Sharks at the end of the rugby union season.
Explained Leigh boss Abram: "I took a call from Saints coach Daniel Anderson asking if I could possibly give him some first grade rugby. I heard some good reports about him and I must say that I've been very impressed by what I've seen so far.
"He only joined us last Thursday and already he's shown great enthusiasm. He wants to be a winner. He has the right attitude, is a good listener and a quick learner. I hope to develop him into a better player in the time hes with us."
