LANCASHIRE County Council is urging families to recycle their Christmas trees.
All 26 LCC recycling centres will provide an extra greenwaste container specially for pine trees. The material will be re-used for landscaping, weed control and composting.
Richard Toon, vice chairman of the highways and transportation committee, said: "This is the fourth year we have provided recycling facilities for Christmas trees to reduce the amount of material going to landfill sites." Your local recycling unit is at Tom Benson Way, Ingol.
