MAJOR sewer replacement works which will close a section of road for up to four weeks have been delayed for a fortnight.
North West Water have contracted Blackburn Council workers to carry out the works in Redearth Road, Darwen.
The work was due to go ahead on January 8 but has been delayed for another two weeks until January 22 due to finance problems.
The road will be closed between Hardman Way and Holme Street while work is carried out.
An alternative route will be available for motorists and will be sign-posted.
